So we're not necessarily huge into Valentine's Day-the holiday around here, but I am sort of generally very pleased about all things love & happy-related. Cute? Hearts? Hugs? Sign me up. Although the commercialization of & idea that one has to prove their love with cash-money jewelry & chocolate & perfume etc purchases does ruin the mood a bit. But I digress.
Mostly I just wanted to pop in & show you the pieces I made for the Valentined show at Craftland.
"Two of a kind" // felt, beads & thread
"Two Peas in a Pod" // felt, beads & thread
The pieces are actually mounted on ivory paper, and matted & framed. Really fun (for me) extension of my "normal" work, and I'm definitely planning on doing more things like this. You can view these two pieces and the work of so many other amazing artists in person at Craftland in Providence, RI through March 3rd. Valentined show info is here.
Now, off to ponder potential dinner plans. We are always happy for an excuse for a nice dinner around these parts, but feeling a bit last-minute/play-it-by-ear this year. Which may, of course, result in the no-tables-anywhere-takeout-it-is option. That's okay with me too. Hope you get what you want out of this February 14th, whatever it may be! Do you have any plans for this wonderful day of love/overcommercialized day of torture?
